Eastland Mall
Opened in 1968, Eastland Mall was Columbus, Ohio’s first enclosed mall,
and has been serving the Columbus' east-side residents for 41 years. In
2006, Macy’s opened a 120,000 square foot store. The redevelopment of
Eastland Mall also included the addition of exterior retail mall shop
space, plus interior renovations, new soft seating areas and a new Ohio
State University-themed soft play space.

Theaters
From classical music to modern dance, yearly family traditions to hot
concerts, the world’s best artists come to the Ohio Theatre. The breath-taking
details (including the 21 foot high chandelier!) and opulent Spanish-Baroque
architecture and design make any night out at the Ohio an event to remember.
Designed in the spirit of France’s Palais de Versailles, the 2,827-seat
Palace Theatre is located at the base of the LeVeque Tower on Broad Street.
Adorned with a chandelier, grand staircase, a mural, a hall of autographed
pictures, and a fountain, the Palace is a delightful destination for an evening
of the arts. Originally a vaudeville house, special attention was paid to the
theatre’s acoustics when it was built-consequently, there’s not a bad seat in
the house.
Venues
One of the most beautiful and unique sports and entertainment venues in the
world, Nationwide Arena opened its doors in September, 2000 with the nation's
only two-night performance of the sold-out "Soul to Soul" tour featuring Tim
McGraw and Faith Hill.
Nationwide Arena is the home of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue
Jackets, the Arena Football League's Columbus Destroyers and a wide variety of
world-class entertainment events.
Located on the corner of Nationwide Boulevard and Front Street in downtown
Columbus, the $150 million facility raises the bar of excellence for sports and
entertainment facilities.
Since the opening of the Center, the three Ohio State sports played
in this facility, Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Men’s Ice Hockey,
have excelled with numerous Big 10 Championship Titles, trips to the
NCAA and NIT tournaments.
The 770,000 square foot multipurpose venue seats 17,500 for ice hockey,
19,500 for basketball and up to 20,000+ for concerts. It is the largest
arena in the Big Ten. Averaging over 1 million guests per year, the
building’s event line-up has included Neil Diamond, The Rolling Stones,
Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, Matchbox Twenty, The American Idol
Tours, Tina Turner, Cher, Billy Joel, Ray Charles, Elton John, Usher,
The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Bill Cosby, Jimmy Buffett, the OHSAA
wrestling and basketball Championships, The Frozen Four, Paul McCartney,
The Three Tenors and recently Barbra Streisand. The Jerome Schottenstein
Center, a nationally renowned sports and entertainment center, continues
its tradition of making memories.
Chiller Easton is a dual-rink facility featuring one NHL-sized rink
and Central Ohio’s only International-sized rink, The Blueline Team
Store, the Ice Box concessions stand, ten locker rooms and a
multipurpose room. Chiller Easton is home to several associations
including the Easton Youth Hockey Association, Gahanna High School
Hockey, Pickerington/Reynoldsburgh High School Hockey, the Northeast
Storm, Westerville High School Hockey the Greater Columbus High School
Club Hockey League, as well as several annual hockey tournaments and
special events. Chiller Easton is also home to Central Ohio’s first and
only short track speed skating club. Public activities include youth and
adult hockey leagues, skating classes, public skating, birthday parties
and private group events.
Designated as one of Ohio's Important Birding Areas by Audubon Ohio,
Pickerington Ponds is a premier spot for observing more than 260 species
of birds. The combination of seasonal ponds and rich wetland vegetation,
with bordering woodlands, serve as a magnet for migrating waterfowl,
shore birds and land birds.
Four miles of scenic trails wind through the fields and around the
ponds. Bikers and other outdoor enthusiasts can hop on the Blacklick
Creek Greenway Trail, which connects to Portman Park in the north, and
extends west along Blacklick Creek, in all a length of 5.9 miles. The
trail will eventually link to Blacklick Woods Metro Park and Three
Creeks Park as part of the Franklin County Greenways program.
